We're SO close...

...to having central air! Robb is mostly excited to always be cool and comfortable inside, because he is dying from heat in this hot weather. We'll finally have our whole house cool instead of just our living room. I'm excited because I hate that when it's cool enough outside I can't open windows to have fresh air because of this air conditioner. I hate freezing in the living room, and sweating everywhere else. Not to mention that our electric bill will be reduced, our siding will stop rotting from dripping water, and I won't have to worry about Charley drinking dripping air conditioner water anymore. This is the first time in my entire 31 years of life I have central air! We can't wait!

Merry Christmas! (In July)

Two email mailing lists that get me in trouble... Sephora and Melt. Today after work I checked my email and saw that Melt was inviting us to a Christmas in July party. How could an evening grilling healthy food and working on our house compare with the Mighty Macaroni Melt and my all time favorite beer Great Lakes Christmas Ale!?! Well, we had to go. After all it was only once a year there's Christmas in July! Always worth every carb!

Charley Adams, C.G.C.

Yeah!  Charley passed his CGC Test!  I'm SO proud of him.  He got a perfect score.  All our hard work paid off.  And, I'm so glad that it was postponed so many times because my ankle was good enough to do the test with him.  It's something I've always wanted to do with Koby, but never got the chance, so I'm extra happy that I could do this with my Char.  On to his CD!

Charley's Test (Got postponed till next Tuesday due to heat)

Charley has his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test today! I'm so excited that it's been postponed so many times, and my ankle is good enough to do the test with him. We have both worked very hard to prepare for his exam.
The CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club! The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.

We've finally hung our wedding tree in our house and we love it! It's such a great reminder of one of our favorite days! Now on to choosing 70/1200 pictures for our photo album!

Hiking to the Glacier Lake

So we had some free time one day, and I saw what looked to be a beautiful glacial lake on our map.  There looked to be an access road, parking, and a short walk to get to the lake.

We got our regular honeymoon drinks, Starbucks Americano's, and headed out for a hike.  Unfortunately the access road wasn't plowed, so we parked at the bottom and started up.
The scenery was breathtaking!  The pine trees were huge, the air was clean and crisp.
There were babbling brooks, and tons of wildlife fluttering by around us.
The hike got continuously harder the farther we went.  The snow was as deep as our knees!
(Would've been perfect for snowshoes, or actually a snowmobile.)
The lichen was abundant, hanging off most trees.
There came a point where after walking and randomly sinking in the snow, we realized that this lake was MUCH father than it looked on the map.  It would be a very long time until we even made it to the start of the trail, let alone the base of the far away mountain where the lake was.
So we turned around, and hiked back to our car.
By the time we got back to the car, we were exhausted.  It was a long hike.
This is a small river flowing from the mountains.  It was amazing how clear the water was everywhere.
On the way in the car we saw Green Lake.  In the summer it looks green because of the type of algae living in it.  In the winter, we saw people playing on the frozen water, cross country skiing, and para-sail skiing.

Although we never made it to the "hidden" glacial lake, it was still a nice breath of nature we got to experience.
