Our last Whistler day :0(

For our last day in Whistler, we went tubing! It was very fun and like all hills here, there was green, blue, and black runs. We went on the blues and blacks, as for tubing, we're experts.
Sadly, our horse drawn sleigh ride was cancelled on us because of trail conditions, even though it looked fine to us. But we still had a romantic fondue dinner as the snow came falling down. (perfect for a sleigh ride, sad.) Our dinner was still fabulous, and now we have the giant task of packing up our condo. We will head to Vancouver, explore their Chinatown, Gastown, and Yaletown, before beginning our long journey home. I'm sad to be almost done with vacation, but really miss my fuzzy boys at home, and can't wait to see them.

Spaaaaahhhhhh

We are very sore today. Last night we fell asleep at 7, basically since every muscle in our bodies were no longer functioning. Today, we woke up and had a day at the much needed Scandanive Spa. Our day started off with a couples massage (best massage if my life) followed by several rounds of the baths. You alternate 15 minutes hot (hot tub, Finnish wood burning sauna, or eucalyptus steam room) followed by 20-30 seconds of FREEZING cold water bath, then into a solarium to relax for 15 minutes. After several rounds, we left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and just a little less sore. Wonderful!

Cross Country and Bobsled

Today we went to Whistler Olympic Park and did some cross country skiing. This place was where they did all the cross country, biathlon, and ski jumping. We even has the luck of seeing a few ski jumpers practicing. Just like a ski mountain there were double green, green, blue, and black trails. The double green was exhausting and the green was all that I could take. We had a nice lunch outside and skied a little more, until my arms and legs turned to jello. Now we're off to BOBSLED!

We Found Winter!

We made it, and are comfortably relaxing on our couch bed with a fire warming our toes. It was a long and early day of travel, and WE FOUND WHERE WINTER WENT! WHISTLER! There are many feet of snow, the ski hills are in full swing, and we're so excited to finally be on our honeymoon. Today we had the most gorgeous drive from Vancouver, and tomorrow we will explore Whistler Village shops while we acclimate to 2,000+ feet. (I don't know how we'll do at the top of the mountain at 7,000+ feet, fingers crossed.) We had a delicious dinner of a wood fired pizza and are heading to bed soon. We're still on EST, which is good because I'm ready for bed at 8 (really 11) and will be able to get up at 6 (really 9). See, all I needed to do to be able to get up early is go three hours backwards. Works for me because we have a lot of early days ahead...

Venus and Jupiter

Get out you telescope! Do you know you can see FIVE planets this month? Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, And Saturn. You can see Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons. On March 15th there will be a Venus-Jupiter conjunction, best in years. This means they will line up, side by side, like headlights in the night sky! http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/visible-planets-tonight-mars-jupiter-venus-saturn-mercury AND http://earthsky.org/tonight
With this nice weather, get out there and take a look!
