New House

See that over there? ----------------->

I hope this will be my new home!

Happy Moms

Happy Mother's Day, Moms! We had two celebrations with our two moms this Mothers Day. First we went to my parents to surprise my mom with lunch. I made chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, with sides of potato salad and coleslaw. Topped that off with a orange flower cake, and voila! Happy Mother's Day!My mom. Her favorite color is orange, and she loves flowers! Perfect cake.Me and my momPicture of lunchYummy chicken saladRobb and momMom smelling her "flower"

Then we headed home to get my baby, and drove out to see Robb's mom at her campground. Last year, she got a beautiful new camper. I should've taken pictures, and I will next time. It's very nice, has a flushable toilet, shower, full kitchen, living room, and dining area, along with a little room full of bunk beds... mmm, Grandma's summer camp in the making? :o) For dinner I made chicken picatta and cavitellis. Kendra completed our dinner with salad, garlic bread, and apple pie a la mode! We hung out mostly inside, cause it was pretty cold, but got to enjoy the fire some too.

On her storage shed, there is a nest of cute little baby birds. They come back every year, and I sat by the fire and caught some pictures of the cuties! They would be real quiet, and then when their mama came with a worm, they'd peep their little heads off. It was so adorable! Cute little baby mouths! They're hungry!See the mom in the tree? Here she is, about to fly up there to feel her babies. They're all happy now! My baby loves camping!Happy boy!Cooking garlic bread! Robb, Mom, and Kendra, eyes wide open!! :o)

Happy Mother's Day to our two wonderful moms!! We love you!

Kilte Ball Movie

Here's a sample of some music that we heard.

Kilte Ball

For the past few years, we've gone to the Kilte Ball. Robb's family friend, Becky, plays the bag pipes. Every year it had become more and more fun because more and more people go. Robb's dad has always gone, and this year his sisters went too. We sit at a big table, share appetizers, eat a meat pie, and enjoy music from the bag pipe band, and Scottish dancers. Waaaaaaaaaaaaalings (Wall-E)Church partIt was so hard to take moving pictures of the band, but to the left of that guy's head is the back of Becky.Dancing Scottish girlsJust look for that guy's head, and then Becky is to the left, bag piping awayBig drumHi HoneyOur group was Hawaiian themedCreepy coconut guyRobb's dad and girlfriend KathyKelsey and KendraMy Honey and me

Sweet Peet

So lately, our "has to happen now" project has been on our front beds. We expanded our beds, and transplanted our existing plants earlier this spring. As a few weeks went by, we had the overwhelming need to much all those little weeds away. On a beautiful sunny Thursday, Robb took off school (yeah!), and we drove our truck out to Bremecs to get mulch. I had done some research about Sweet Peet Mulch and it's benefits to the garden beds. It's made organically in huge piles, and works as much for a year. At the end of the growing season, you just till it in, making your soil more nutrient rich, and then next year top over it again. Plus, it's exactly the color we like without adding any unnecessary dyes. We got the first load spread by Saturday morning, and then I went back and got another yard that we completed by Sunday. I also found out that Home Depot was having a sale on perennials, 5 for $10, so we went and got a bunch of little plants to fill the beds in. It turned out just beautiful!
Here's our first truck full of Sweet Peet!
Only one way to get this out of the truck!
Our Rugby found a good spot to watch.
Finally taking down our Christmas lights... after 5 months! Is this safe?

Margaritas

A few weekends ago, my good friend from high school, Janet, was in town for the weekend. I'm so glad that I went to our high school reunion and got back in touch with her. We met up with our other partner in crime, Lindsey, for some "special order" delicious afternoon margaritas at Clauddah. Then we got hungry and headed to the Cheesecake Factory for some appetizers. It was like not a day had gone by since we last hung out. We chatted the afternoon away, catching up, and reminiscing about old times. Some of my best memories are with these girls! Afterwards, we did a little shopping in Coventry, parted ways with Lindsey, and then Janet and I headed off to do a little pampering with manicures. To say that time flew by is an understatement! It was really a fun day that I wish could happen much more often! Love you girls!
My arm stretched out to take this picture. Beautiful girls! Then a guy walked by who saw me struggling to get my arm long enough, and took this one for us! Even better!
