Cold Kitty

My Chester, cuddled in his bed with his toes on the heater. He'll run over here when the furnace turns on! Can't say I blame him.

Charley Got His CD!

The same day I won my contest, Charley won his CD. This means he got a qualifying score in 3 different obedience competitions! His last trial, he won third place, and got his title! CD stands for "companion dog", and is the first level in obedience competitions. So, now officially with the AKC, Charley's name is: Sweet Pea Charley Roo, CGC, CD. Go Charley! What's next? I think we'll try some agility, or flyball. Charley has a lot of energy, so this may be perfect for him. We'll see...

Good Job Charley!!!

Tomorrow Is A Big Day

Tomorrow is a big day for 2 reasons. I have my final weigh in for my competition and Charley will be going for his title in his dog shows. We really have both worked very hard to get to where we are. (Naked) I weigh 21 lbs less. And Charley has won 1st and 3rd, qualifying 2/3 times for his title. Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, our hard work will all pay off. Tomorrow night I hope to be one iPad richer with a dog who earned his CD. Cross your fingers for us-here we go!

Liquid Planet Just Saved Me

I'm still out in the world, haven't had juice in 3 hours. Need some, so I found a Liquid Planet that saved me. I got a fresh carrot juice mixed with 100% organic pineapple coconut juice. I feel much better now and inadvertently discovered a lovely new blend!

Kale, Pineapple, Orange, Ginger Dinner

I went to Whole Foods to pick up some Kale and Ginger for my "dinner".  This will probably be the one and only time I'm in the grocery store during my fast.  I really can't stand to be surround by so much chewable food.  It's easier just not to go  by temptation.

My dinner juice consisted of about 3 cups of Kale, 1/2 a fresh pineapple, an orange, and an inch of fresh ginger.
I find that pineapple really of sets the grassy taste of greens.  With the ginger, you can hardly taste the freshly mowed lawn.  I like cooked and raw greens, but I'm not the biggest lover of green juices.  During a cleanse it's essential to take in some chlorophyll to clarify the blood.  So, I try...
Looks kinds like Ecto Cooler.  Remember that?

After dinner, I had 2 cups of tea, and about 10 trips to the bathroom.  Once cup of Constant Comment, and 1 cup of Chinese Detox Tea.  I stopped drinking about 10 pm, so I could sleep with few interruptions.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get my granny smith/cranberry juice today.  But, there's always tomorrow!

It is hard to drink so much during the course of a day.  I constantly try to remember that the more liquid and water I drink, the easier my body can flush out the toxins it's releasing.  I feel my 3 day headache coming on...

Lunch

I took all of this to work today to get me through the day.
These organic Very Veggie juices are a lifesaver when you can't bring your juicer.  There is very low sodium and 280 calories per bottle.  It's a 32 oz bottle.

Actually while I was getting ready, I had a Detox Tea, and at work after my big bottle of Very Veggie, I had a glass of Orange Ginger Rooibos Tea.

On my way to Boot Camp, I had a sparkling blueberry water.  I actually completed my Boot Camp, working pretty hard, and didn't pass out.  But afterwards, I was STARVING!  The first 3 days are the hardest, while your digestive system is shutting down.

I got a quick snack of a Bolthouse Farms juice at Whole Foods after my class, which held me over until I got home, showered, and made "dinner",,,

My Last Week

It's been a long 6 weeks... almost.  My final weigh in for my competition is this Saturday.
So far I've lost 16.3 lbs!  Not too shabby if I so say so myself for 5 weeks.

My last week's strategy has been a tough one to figure out.  I want to loose the absolute most weight possible in the shortest amount of time.  I want to win that IPad!

So, I've decided to do a mini juice cleanse.  Juicing will:
1) Will it completely empty out my insides. Gross poop fact, the stuff inside your intestines waiting to leave your body, can weigh up to 10 lbs!
2) Remove any toxins in my body keeping it from preforming optimally on my push up/squat test Saturday.
3) Make me feel as healthy as I've been working so hard to be!

My plan is to detox M-F, and then completely fast for 12 hours until my weigh in Saturday morning.  This may change if I decide to fast 24 hours before, but I don't want to be too weak for my strength testing.

I know it's not "healthy", but I also want to loose as much water as I can between Friday and Saturday.  One gallon of water weighs over 8 lbs!  I may actually wear long underwear and walk a ton Friday to sweat out anything that is left.

YES, I'll be dehydrated, and starving, but it's only tempory.  I can deal with it for one day.

So, to keep my mind occupied for these five days, I'll attempt to document my days in the juice fast.

Since every day will be virtually the same , first I will document what I drink, and the following days, will document what each does.

Starting on an empty stomach, I drink one tablespoon of bentonite clay and one scoop of psylliun husks with almond milk.  Then I drink a warm glass of water with lemon juice.
My first juice of the day is 1 grapefruit, 2 oranges, 1 carrot, and a little ginger.
Makes a lovely and delicious wake you up blend!  This is such a good breakfast, even when you're not juicing!  It's SO refreshing.  Ahhhh.

Now, I'm going to get ready to go to work.  More on my "lunch" later...
