Two Words:

Pina Coladas! Bahama Breeze! Favorite Place!

Strawberry Pickin

Every year, Robb and I pick lots of strawberries to make homemade jam, frozen strawberries, and strawberry daiquiris. Usually we go to Rainbow Farms http://www.rainbowfarmsonline.com/ to pick our berries. They have several different varieties to pick from, and also have black raspberries and red raspberries in July. We pick out blackberries and blueberries at Secor's in Perry. This year on pickin' day, Robb had to go be Mr. Electric, and Jill was in town, so I picked her up to be my pickin' partner. Jill had never gone before, but ate my jam, so it was fun to take her. We ended up going to Patterson's Fruit Farm http://www.pattersonfarm.com/ to pick because it was closer to where we were. We picked Allstar berries for 2 hours. Jill ended up with 11 pounds, and I got 29 1/4 pounds! It rained on us just for a little while, but it didn't stop us! Picking is addictive cause there's always one more good berry you just have to get! We had a great time!

Barn Party

A few weeks ago we went to a shower/engagement party for Jill's brother who is getting married this fall. I'd been hearing for months about all the fun preparations and mostly this barn. Here's how it was described to me: "This random rich guy builds fun building all around, and he built this barn out in the country somewhere. My mom used her famous negotiating skills to let us have it there. It's more than your average barn, with wood inside, different rooms and everything. You won't believe how cool this place is!" Jill's mom and her decorator got together and threw the most unbelievable party for Dave and Brooke. The barn was truly out of this world. It was all log cabiny in the inside, decorated to the hilt with a western/country theme. We had barbeque food, and a live country band to make the night complete! Here's some snapshots of the evening!

The Barn!

My honey and me!

Tired little Braden, sleeping with Grandpa Dude, still partying!

Summer kitties

This is just so cute. Rugby and Chester love to look out the front door together in the summertime. Since they are inside kitties, this is a great eye level view of the outside world. They'll sit there right at the edge for hours watching the world go by!

NKOTB 2009

After 20 years- finally! Stacy and I had such a great trip to Pittsburgh to see our first NKOTB concert! On the ride we decided to get a little driving music, Greatest Hits, and their new one, which made the trip fly. It was pretty good weather for the beginning part, but as expected started to rain, right when the New Kids came on, and just as we had left our ponchos at our spot to go get something to eat! When we got back to our spot, we were soaked, but it didn't matter! We were hangin' tough! Ha, ha! It's hard to believe these boys were only 16 when they were out the first time, and was funny to see these 30 something "men" doing NKOTB songs! Sure enough though, they danced, and sang just like they used to. One thing that made us laugh was that there were no boys at all at the concert! Everyone was around our age and female, dressed up in NKOTB shirts, or 80's clothes, which we totally shoud've done. We counted 5 boys waiting in the crowd on the way out, and subtracted the 2 who had "I love Jonathan" shirts on! So funny! Here's some highlights of the night!

Flashback

Today Stacy and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh for our first ever New Kids on the Block concert! Yeah! We were huge fans since we were little, but we were too little to go see their show. So, 20 years later they're back, and we're there! It will be a muddy, rainy concert at an outdoor amphitheatre, but we don't care, NKOTB, here we come!! Can't wait, it will be "super fun!"
